To preserve Kansas City's oldest historic theater as a premier
performance venue by presenting, producing, and hosting a wide
range of quality events for the community.
The Folly's Reasons for Being:
-
We entertain, educate and inspire audiences young and old
through the performing arts.
-
We celebrate the Folly Theater's intimate and acoustically
ideal performance space and the unique experience that it
provides patrons of all art forms.
-
As a partner and leader in downtown revitalization we enhance
our community by serving the cultural, entertainment, educational,
business, and civic needs of the greater community.
-
The Folly Theater stands as a definitive illustration of
an irreplaceable community asset, enriching the successful
economic recovery of a neighborhood through preservation
and the arts.
As an organization, our goal is to provide programming that
meets the highest quality standards while striving to meet the
community's needs and desires. We are proud to host the greatest
jazz artists the world has to offer with our Folly Jazz Series.
We are proud to bring the best national touring productions for
children to the Kansas City Metro area.
We work to educate the community about our city's history and place in the
national consciousness, great art, and the opportunities that art provides
in stimulating creativity and possibilities.
We are not just caretakers of a building, but caretakers of generations of
work toward educating, preserving the past and looking to the future. We are
community partners. We are our community's past and present. We are the future.
We are the Folly Theater.
